Visa Requirement

Visa Information for International Delegates

The International Funders for Indigenous Peoples 2027 Global Conference has been registered with the International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) of the Department of Home Affairs, Australia. This assists delegates and speakers with visa requirements for entry to Australia.

All non-Australian citizens travelling to Australia must hold a valid visa prior to travel. New Zealand passport holders do not need to apply for a visa before coming to Australia and are granted a Special Category Visa (SCV) on arrival where they meet certain criteria.

A range of visa options are available depending on each participant’s purpose of travel and individual circumstances. To support your visa, we have attached the following fact sheets:

  • General Visa Information for Event Participants
  • Visa Options for Event Participants

These documents outline visa requirements, application processes, and provide guidance to help participants select an appropriate visa. Please note that participants are responsible for:

  • choosing the correct visa type
  • lodging your visa application
  • providing all required supporting documentation in accordance with legislative requirements for an Australian visa.
  • Providing a support letter from your community or organisation, particularly for participants who are presenting at the conference. This letter should confirm your role at the event and your organisation's endorsement of your attendance.

Supporting your visa application

To assist with your application, participants can be provided with an event registration confirmation (through the online registration process) and an invitation letter, which may be included as supporting documentation with your visa application.

Please contact IFIP2027@agentur.com.au to request your invitation letter.

Before you apply

  • Lodge your visa application well in advance of your intended travel date, as processing times can vary and may take longer during peak periods.
  • Confirm the correct visa subclass for your circumstances (e.g. business visitor, conference attendee) via the official Department of Home Affairs website.
  • Keep a copy of your registration confirmation, invitation letter, and any support letters together with your application for reference.

Please note that visa regulations and requirements may change at the discretion of the Department of Home Affairs. We strongly encourage all participants to check official Department of Home Affairs resources for the most current visa information before applying.
